Just because your meal is going to be very casual, or maybe even on the go, you shouldn’t have to settle for less than high quality ingredients, full flavor, and excellent presentation...
Tropical Smoothie easily offers all 3 and more. Starting with the pleasant, island-tinged atmosphere… not over the top, comfy and easy to relax and enjoy your time there. The service is very friendly and efficient, and they make tasty suggestions if you want an original smoothie (although they offer so many choices, there isn’t too much need to think!) They serve you up quickly but the food is not thrown together like fast food- it’s presented well and easy to eat while driving! Let’s talk turkey- and roast beef, and salami, and ham- Tropical Smoothie uses generous portions Boar’s Head meats, which have a fresh, full flavor that makes the brand stand out among deli meats as one of the finest. The variety of sandwiches and wraps- aside from deli meats- is fantastic: from Jerk and Buffalo Chicken, to Veggie and even Thai Chicken. The wraps are folded tightly with a nice balance mostly meat, complemented by cheese and veggies. My most recent wrap (I’ve tried, oh, 4 or 6!) was the Cool Tuna Wrap with American cheese, thinly sliced onion, tomatoes and lettuce sprinkled with balsamic vinaigrette- all layered into a garlic herb tortilla… wow. The fresh tuna, unburdened by overuse of mayo, stood out instantly. The wrap was stuffed with tuna- not lettuce- I hate it when the veggies are given the “headline” portions and the meat seems like the short encore! These wraps give you what you pay for: meaty, delicious main course meals. The Jamaican Jerk wrap is surprisingly spicy and authentic, and Chicken Mango Habanero- what a fun and different wrap with zesty and sweet flavors fighting for your taste buds!
The menu is rounded out breakfast items, soups, salads and sandwiches- I’m on my way to getting to trying them all, it’s just tough to tear myself away from the wraps that I have enjoyed so much! But from observing the satisfaction of other diners and the sights and smells coming out of the kitchen, I’m fairly confident that I will enjoy these choices as well.
Oh yeah, the smooooothies… let’s preface this with the fact that I’m nota fan of smoothies. Too often I’ve been disappointed by gritty, grainy textures or slushy, mushy weak fruit- I’d rather just eat a bowl of fresh fruit. But the Sunny Day low fat smoothie changed my mind forever: mangoes, kiwis and oranges (I omitted the banana) blended in what was a cold, silky, puree of solid, simple fruit. The last sip was as tasty, thick and fruit-laden as the first, not a watery regret through the straw. Good to the last sip- these are fantastic smoothies with a ton of choices- from healthy low fat to decadent dessert, and back to power smoothies for energy and stamina. So before you just head for a drive thru or settle for fast food- check out this innovative menu and eat well without guilt, because~
