| The Original Steakhouse |

The food is of a much higher quality than you would expect from a sports bar- indeed- it was steakhouse quality food with a sports bar feeling... I was an original customer of the original owners of The Original Steakhouse in 2005, and was a huge fan of this restaurant. When the ownership changed in 2007, so did the menu and quality of service. My family went for dinner shortly after the change of ownership and was sorely disappointed with the decline of an old favorite, so we stopped going. Apparently, the new owner realized that he was losing core customers and took steps to recapture the old crowd and bring in new clientele as well- and it worked. When we returned on a whim a year and a half later, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the lobby was full, college sports were in full force, and we knew we were in for a wait. As we watched the kitchen team grilling up steaks, burgers and chicken, our mouths watered at the enticing aroma wafting over us- mesquite seasoning, sizzling fajita spices... the anticipation was building! So when the manager came around with samples of the chicken quesadillas, it was a welcome and delicious surprise! Cheesy, with finely chopped veggies, tasty salsa and chunks of tender chicken- an excellent starter. We were soon seated and then greeted by a very friendly waitress. I ordered prime rib (let me remind ya'll that I am a beef-fed, Nebraska-bred carnivore- I have high standards for a good steak) and it was cooked to perfection- medium and hot- which is difficult to accomplish- flavorful & juicy. My husband ordered filet mignon- it was an impressively high grade piece of beef- especially for the price! Tender, again- perfectly cooked, with balanced, hearty flavor. My son- 9 yr old food critic (where would he get THAT from....?) ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that actually tasted healthy, and he ate every bite. Kudos to The Original Steakhouse for implementing real changes that deliver a wonderful dining experience. A team of servers actually takes care of you- not just one person. We left that night feeling like we got more than our money's worth- and that's what it's all about. We returned again a few weeks later and had yet another well executed experience with excellent quality food. And with kids under 12 eating free on Wednesdays... need I say more? Sports fans will love the numerous sporting choices on the massive televisions in the bar, and even the normal-sized televisions in the dining area. We enjoy "apps and hops", aka wings and beer- here on occasion, especially when there's an un-televised Yankee game being played! It's also a smoke- free restaurant now. An extensive & innovative menu, well-trained, service-oriented wait staff, cooks that know medium from medium well, & serves higher grade cuts of meat. All of these aspects combine to make The Original Steakhouse the kind of neighborhood restaurant that I'm pleased to have within a few miles of my front door, because~
