Preet Palace~ Indian Cuisine PDF E-mail
I am so pleased that Ashburn has a new restaurant serving gourmet quality meals! Preet Palace is in the Ashburn Restaurant Plaza off of Waxpool, and will definitely win over residents looking for another excellent local Indian restaurant.

We adore many different Indian flavors, from Tandoori to curry, and were delighted with the variety of dishes offered at Preet Palace. The Tomato soup and Mulligatawny soup- both full of fresh herbs, spices and bursting with flavor. We also started with samosas- their flaky crusts were stuffed with minced spiced potatoes and peas, and perfectly complemented by mint and tamarind sauces.

The Chilly Chicken was especially scrumptious, with a creamy curry tomato sauce that defies description! Every ingredient in this sauce was well balanced around juicy chunks of white meat chicken- each bite was a pleasure.

My favorite dish this evening was Palak Paneer: creamy, steamed spinach with a generous chunks of cheese triangles.  Scooping up this succulent spinach with pillowy, warm Naan was almost enough to make me a vegetarian- not for LIFE, but for the moment! We were too full for dessert, but next time I think I’ll start with Kheer Pista- Indian rice pudding with raisins and pistachios- it looked delicious as it passed by to a table beside us.

Portions here are quite generous, and the service is solicitous and friendly. The atmosphere is family friendly yet nice enough to make date night in Ashburn feel special. Warm colors and Indian art adorn the walls, and soft music plays in the background of- not in competition with- conversation. It’s worth a short drive to step out and enjoy this authentic Indian cuisine, because~

This was definitely the best Indian food I've had in Northern Virginia but the Ashburn location is now sadly gone.. Good thing there is one in Centreville!
