Regardless of what you are shopping for, you want a few important “S”es: Selection, Superior Quality, Service, and Satisfaction. Imagine my delight when The Papery delivered all of that, and more.

As soon as I entered this brightly decorated store, I was elated, then apprehensive. Elated, because there are hundreds of choices: classy, whimsical, artistic, cartoonish, oldish, youngish, cultural, traditional- a sea of options ebb and flow throughout the store. Apprehensive, because I do NOT enjoy shopping at all. Whether I am buying a skirt or a skirt steak, a pair of glasses or a glass of wine (note to self… never write reviews before dinner…) it typically ends up like this: an hour spent looking at every available selection only to be disappointed by whatever I end up with out of desperation.
When it comes to stationery, I have very specific needs. The reason that, over a year after I “became” Aphioni, I don’t have signature stationery is that I’ve never found the perfect poppy paper. So I browsed with trepidation, and tempered my expectations. No matter what your occasion, style or budget- it would be difficult not to discover what you envisioned here. It’s not the typical stock you see everywhere else- it’s an impressive assortment. But no poppies, no poppies… why couldn’t I have chose a tulip or magnolia for my brand!?! Those blasted buds are everywhere!
Enter the delightful and wonderful Dee, who had welcomed me as I arrived, allowed me an appropriate amount of space and time to browse, then rescued me as she saw the panic begin to set in. I told her my sad tale about needing a specific poppy, one that matched my original logo created by Sunflower Creative Design. As she headed to a nook that I hadn’t previously noticed, Dee asked if it was a California Poppy. My heart sank since mine is closer to an Oriental Poppy, but oh well, I’m used to disappointment… sigh.
Dee turned around holding 2 sizes of stationery- both adorned with red, oriental poppies that matched my logo- woo hoooo! I should have bought all that she had but I showed some restraint. Aside from finally finding my elusive poppy paper, I really enjoyed my short visit to The Papery. It’s wonderful when a specialty shop exceeds your expectations in service and selection. When the products open your imagination and the images bring up forgotten memories. When wonderful folks like Dee make you feel like your needs are the only thing that matters without hovering or intruding on you space.
Don’t let a fabulous discovery like this fly under the radar- keep them in mind when you shop, because~
