One of the Best French restaurants~ Paris Prestige PDF E-mail
Think of the following expression: “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” Then think of this expression: "Make food simple and let things taste of what they are." Now go to Paris Prestige and taste, the, food. ~~~

Aphioni Member “Ann M.” was spot on with her Neighborhood Nomination for Paris Prestige. I’ve been there twice and on both occasions, I’ve left satisfied but not stuffed, and oh so glad that I chose to dine there.

I’m no French Cuisine aficionado- in fact, I didn’t enjoy it much even when I lived in Europe. But on the great buzz of several members and acquaintances, I had to check it out. I only know what I enjoy, and that is lovingly prepared, flavorful, scrumptious dishes. I don’t remember the official names of the entrees, but you’ll figure it out when you see the menu!

My first visit started with the Asparagus Crème Soup. Smooth as silk with clean fresh flavors of herbs and asparagus. Normally, cream soups leave my stomach feeling a bit uncomfortable, but since I love them, I look at the pain as a necessary evil. But this soup was 100% pleasure- it was simple and divine. I decided to keep it simple and had the ham and cheese sandwich… imagine a grilled cheese with the cheese melted all around it like a crock of French onion soup- the presentation was a thing of beauty for a cheese lover like me. It was accented with a creamy béchamel sauce and fresh mushrooms, and served with a salad of romaine, baby spinach and radicchio tossed in a light vinaigrette dressing.  No single component overshadowed another- again, a simple and delish dish.

I returned to Paris Prestige and ordered the Salmon Tart- yeah, there is some fancy French name for it… check out the menu if you want to tackle it! I’m not big on overly fishy flavors, which is why salmon is usually a safe fish for me, and this was no exception. It’s hard to compare this tart to anything- a light crust rests under flaky, pink salmon, carrots, mushrooms and herbs and deliciousness baked with a liberal dusting of savory cheeses. Every bite burst with flavor- and as silly at it sounds, the carrots tasted like CARROTS. The mushrooms tasted like---- you get the picture. Veggies taste better when you taste the VEGGIE, not butter, oil, or a soggy overcooked pile of yuck.

The “pièce de résistance” is easily the desserts. I am not going to describe them- imagine the best desserts you’ve ever tasted, and add a level to that. Just take the short trip to Ashburn Road, order a wonderful, strong, cup of steaming coffee, and try whatever suits your taste buds, because~
