It always astounds me when I enjoy a meal that has no cheese or potatoes accompanying it… Nagoya Sushi Bar & Japanese Steakhouse was yet another pleasant surprise for me- I expected to enjoy the show and have nothing negative to say about the food. What was unexpected was the absolute satisfaction I felt after dinner!

Aside from the highly skilled hibachi chefs who playfully create and serve your meals, aside from the camaraderie between strangers that develops when sharing tossed shrimp and ooh’ing and aaaah’ing over an onion volcano- Nagoya delivers a simple yet increasingly difficult to find experience: superior quality food at affordable prices. The atmosphere is beautiful and great for families- Japanese-influenced décor in a light, informal ambiance. You aren’t surprised to hear the clang of a gong followed by the announcement of a celebration- you actually look forward to it! Squeals of laughter and delight are often and expected. Bottom line is this is an easy go to place for a group of people who want a fun meal.
The filet mignon stood out with its tenderness and flavor. The scallops were huge, fresh and buttery soft. Our chef skillfully prepared every ingredient- veggies were crisp, rice was flavorful, meat was properly seasoned and cooked just right. Fine presentation and generous portions round out the excellence of meals at Nagoya. Everyone at our table ate beyond satisfaction and had a fun time to boot.
The evening was capped when they banged the gong, called the room to attention, and recognized The Boy and our friend for their first and third degree black belts, respectively. They took our picture and put it on the wall, which delighted the kids to no end.
This is truly a nice experience for everything from date night to group celebrations to family friendly dining. I could even see coming here on my own for sushi and a glass of wine. Ashburn is so fortunate to have so many truly wonderful restaurants! Dress up, dress casual- just get dressed and go out for a fun and delicious meal, because~
